I am an experienced and empathic practitioner with more than 15 years’ experience working in mental health and psychological practice. My approach is calm, thoughtful and consistent, creating a space where you can speak openly and explore difficult experiences without feeling rushed or pressured.

My background is in individual and group psychotherapy within therapeutic community settings, working with people experiencing complex and enduring emotional difficulties. I am a BACP Individual Member and am currently completing the final stages of my UKCP accreditation in psychoanalytic psychotherapy. My work is informed by psychoanalytic and psychodynamic thinking, attachment theory and an understanding of neuroscience.

People come to therapy for many different reasons. You may be struggling with anxiety, the effects of trauma, difficulties in relationships, repeated patterns that are hard to change, low self-worth, grief, emotional overwhelm, or a sense that something in your life does not quite feel right. Sometimes the difficulty is clear; at other times, it can be harder to put into words.

Individual psychotherapy offers an opportunity to understand not only what you are experiencing now, but also the patterns, relationships and experiences that may have shaped how you feel about yourself and others. Trauma and relational difficulties can often leave lasting effects on how safe we feel, how we respond to closeness, and how we manage anxiety, conflict or vulnerability.

Together, we can explore these experiences at a pace that feels manageable. Over time, therapy can help make sense of feelings that may previously have seemed confusing or overwhelming, understand patterns that repeatedly cause difficulty, and develop a greater sense of emotional safety and freedom.

This is careful, steady work. The aim is not simply to manage symptoms, but to understand what lies beneath them and create the possibility of meaningful and lasting change.
